Being Aware of Kid’s Constipation Problem as Parents

constipation kidsA kid can go through constipation just like any adult, but it can actually be dangerous for them. Constipation kids and babies do not know that they are going through constipation and will not inform you directly that they got trouble passing motion. Babies can’t talk to you and kids will hide them from you for a few reason.

Kids’ And Babies Do Not Know That They Are Supposed To Poo Every Few Days

First, they don’t know that they are supposed to poo every few days and when they can’t go, they get scared thinking that they are causing trouble for you and you will get mad at them. When they are able to pass motion, the stool might be too hard, tearing anal tissues. This will cause minor bleeding and blood will stick to the poo and toilet paper. Kids with constipation will be scared about this matter and choose not to tell you. As for babies, there is no way for them to tell you anything other than crying and being irritated constantly. But that itself can be a sign of constipation or for many other problems or for no reason at all.

Parents Need To Pay A Close Attention

pay attentionRegardless, in both situations, it is really up to you as parents to take notice of the problems happening to your kids. You need to know how often your kids go to the toilet. Normally, kids go to toilet to poo every 2-3 days and constipation will cause them to only have a bower movement every 4 days or more. Babies, on the other hand, might not produce any stools for 5-7 days as they don’t eat solid food.

Signs For Kids Constipation

Another sign to look out for is how long they stay inside the toilet when they do go to the toilet. Kids who spend a lot of time inside the toilet and frequently visits it could be a telling sign. This could mean they often feel like they need to poop, only to find that they can’t.

Kids With Constipation Often Have Trouble Admitting It

Kids with constipation have usually have troubles admitting it and it is important that you be calm and patient when dealing with them. If you force them to tell you the truth, they might just hide it from you again the next time it happens. Explain to them that they should not be ashamed of it and that they should always inform you whenever it happens. You will want them to come out on their own so they go straight to you anytime they face constipation.

Kids Constipation Can Lead To Serious Problems Later

constipation can lead to serious problemsIf you don’t find out about your constipation kids early, it can lead to serious problems later on. The anus will be so used to keeping large stool that it will expand by itself. Your kids will not know when they need to go to the toilet until the stool comes out on its own. Making a bad habit of this early can stay with your kids even in adulthood. This problem is both embarrassing for you and for them, so it is best that you avoid that situation completely.
